ABOUT US
Native Para-Judicial Services of Quebec (NPJSQ) is a non-political, not-for-profit organization. It was created following negotiations between Quebec First Nations and the Quebec Department of Justice. Native Para-Judicial Services of Quebec assists native people in matters relating to the criminal justice system. It is wholly committed to developing alternatives to the euro-Canadian justice system in order to better meet the needs of native communities in the province of Quebec.
All First Nations of Quebec are represented in it through the union of the inukshuk, the drum and the sign of the Métis at the centre of circle of life. The Centre symbolizes wheel of Medicine, the circle of live and Mother Earth. MotherIt explains how all life is interdependent and is part of an infinite circle within which each is equal and must live in harmony, respect, sharing, humility and honesty. The four fasteners represented here by the four colors of medicinesymbolize each of the four cardinal points which possess a guiding spirit and stage of life. They represent also the our fundamental group of the human race t as taught by the Elders. Finally, the slogan reminds us of the basic mission of organization which is the improvement in justice administration in the Native world , which can only be archieved by uniting all of our efforts.
